Raw Horizons Retreat, a family run ‘women’s only’ wellbeing retreat, is looking for someone to join us as general retreat helper.
We offer residential wellbeing & personal development programmes and yoga retreats in luxurious surroundings in beautiful North Yorkshire. Our cuisine is based on the gourmet raw food philosophy and our retreats are for small groups of women (max 12 per retreat).
We’re looking for an enthusiastic all-rounder who can assist in all aspects of helping ensure that retreat programmes run smoothly and effectively. The role involves a mix of kitchen/dining room assistance, housekeeping duties and retreat activity help.
A genuine interest in health and wellbeing is essential.
Responsibilities include kitchen assistance, food preparation, dining room help, general housekeeping, setting up for retreat activities, some front of house duties and generally helping keep the venue running smoothly during retreats.
It is quite a physically demanding job as you will be on the go all day.
This is initially temporary job, but could lead to a full time, permanent position.
The hours are generally Monday thru Friday and are typically split shift days (9am-2pm & 6-9pm) with some 9am-5pm days. However, there is also weekend work when we hold our yoga weekends, which is typically one weekend per month.
The role can be split into 2 separate positions as either:
- Day shift: 9am – 2pm
- Evening shift: 6pm – 9pm
Pay is negotiable depending on experience.
On-site accommodation may be available in our static caravan.
Duties will include a wide range of tasks including:
- kitchen assistant duties (involving washing up, cleaning),
- assisting with the food preparation,
- setting and serving at table,
- setting up bedrooms for guest arrival,
- daily housekeeping,
- retreat workshop/activity set-up and help,
- interaction and assistance with retreat guests.
No formal experience is needed. On-job training will be provided.
We are looking for someone who is motivated, honest, hard-working and reliable.
In relation to kitchen assistance, an interest in healthy food is essential and the candidate must be confident in preparing food.
A decent level of English is also necessary.
As our location is secluded and away from regular public transport, a drivers license with own transport is highly recommended.
In addition, the successful candidate must be:
- Keen to learn
- Able to work unsupervised
- Excellent attention to detail
- Happy to do whatever task is needed
- In good health as you will be on the go all day
- Clean & tidy appearance as will be meeting the guests
- Genuine personal interest in their own wellbeing
- Interest in the hospitality and wellbeing industry
