Are you in a situation where you just don’t know what to do?
This simple meditation helps you get out of the crazy internal chatter of “I don’t what to do!” or “what the hell’s going on?”.
All the pressure that comes with indecision such as “should I make that decision” or “should I do this or that?” starts to create this immense disorientation within yourself.
This meditation starts to co-ordinate the two sides of the brain. It coordinates the 3 parts – the physical, the mental and the spiritual – so that we can gain clarity & insight.
You can start to think more clearly on these problems, so you do know what to do and know what the correct decision would be to make. Although this particular meditation, as with most meditations, can be very simple, this particular one is very effective.
Do not be deceived by the simplicity of a meditation because there is a power behind it when you do it with intent.

With this meditation we are going to use mudra – so we are going to use our hands and place them in a particular way, making sure the fingers are together, but not tight.
Then you are going to place one hand into the other. It doesn’t matter whether the left hand is on top of the right and vice versa. Then you are going to place your thumbs across each other and bring your hands into the position of the heart, fingers pointing upwards. Remember we are not trying to force them into an upright position, make sure you feel comfortable and natural when holding your hands.
We do have an eye position with this meditation as well. Start with the eyes looking into the third eye, upwards in between the brows. When we look into this space, we will have our hands by our sides which orients ourselves into the meditation.
Be present in this space, do a few breaths, start to try clear the mind (remember that meditation isn’t really about ‘emptying’ the mind. Rather, it is about not paying attention on what is going on in your mind).
Just begin to think about breathing and going into the meditation – to set the intention that this is going to be a beautiful experience.
As we bring our hands up into the heart position as outlined before, we are going to move our eye focus down from the third eye position to the tip of your nose.
If you don’t know how to get your eyes to the tip of your nose. Bring your index finger to the tip of your nose and allow your eyes to follow your index finger to this point. Please don’t take your head forward as you do this. The neck stays in line with the spine while bringing the eyes down to the tip of your nose. You are working with the optic nerve, strengthening the pituitary and pineal glands that are sitting behind the forehead.
Now we are in this position, in a deeper state of meditation. We are now going to use the breath which has a pattern to it:
- First we are going to inhale and exhale through the nose.
- Next we are going to inhale and exhale through the mouth with pursed lips.
- Now we are going to inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth.
- Then we are going to inhale through the mouth and exhale through the nose.
Repeat this pattern and keep that breath going, make it slow and steady. Try keep this breath going for 3 minutes and move it up to 11 minutes.
You can do this anywhere, anytime and as you do this meditation and use your breath, what was a mess within your mind starts to clear and what was once complicated now ceases to be so.
So when you don’t know what to do, practice this meditation. Simple yet effective. Sat nam…
